  1. Great help working with ELs 5 Star Review

Posted by on 29th Mar 2021

I have not used it yet, just got it before the spring break, but I am planning to use it often for my newcomer ELs in 4 and 5th grades. They don't get a lot of Phonics or Spelling instruction, and the book has resources to teach them the patterns of English reading and spelling to make their life a little easier and help them learn faster. I am so excited I now don't have to reinvent the wheel! Thank you!

  2. Working the Phonological and Orthographic processors! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 25th Mar 2021

This resource has been a tremendous helping in making a concrete connection between the phoneme grapheme mapping and spelling instruction. By providing both instructional practice information and well organized word lists, this resource is a support for where our Language Arts curriculum lacks depth. Definitely recommend!

  3. Use it daily 5 Star Review

Posted by on 23rd Mar 2021

This is a useful tool that I have pulled out daily to reference. There are pages in the back that can be run for mapping words. I love the various examples of words. I would recommend that the admin purchase this book for all teachers of reading and spelling. My students have greatly improved their spelling once I began implementing the strategies used in the book.

  4. Great reference for Sound Mapping/Orthographic Mapping 5 Star Review

Posted by on 16th Feb 2021

As a reading teacher and tutor, this book was a perfect resource to add to my collection. I love the sample activities and word lists in this book. It helped give me direction on how to map more complex words such as silent e words, multisyllabic words, and words with affixes.
It is well worth the money.

  5. A Must Have for Reading Teachers 5 Star Review

Posted by on 9th Feb 2021

This book taught me a ton of stuff that I didn't learn in my Master's in Reading program. This book is an absolute must have for teachers who want to improve their reading instruction.

  6. Wonderful resource 5 Star Review

Posted by on 5th Jan 2021

I love this book. I have been using phoneme-grapheme mapping for some years now, but this book has added greatly to my"toolbox of ideas". PLUS the way it is structured clearly demonstrates how to implement a systematic approach and is very helpful to teachers wanting to implement this approach in their classrooms.

  7. A structured, systematic programme 5 Star Review

Posted by on 14th Dec 2020

This is a great resource for anyone wanting a systematic approach to teaching a phonics-based approach to spelling-literacy. It fits beautifully with a Science of Reading literacy programme. Well worth purchasing.

  8. A Great Resource 5 Star Review

Posted by on 25th Jun 2020

This is a great resource I use to help students who struggle with spelling. This is systematic and hands on. My students love this type of learning. It helps them understand the rules and teaches the six syllable types. It helps them make the connection between letters and sounds.

  9. Amazing A plus 5 Star Review

Posted by on 29th May 2020

I am from Australia and I am just beginning to understand the Science of Reading. I had heard great things about this book and I found it here at a reasonable price. I'm so glad I did because this book is fantastic. It has lists of words, meanings and is very easy to follow. I am really happy with the product and the price.

  10. Absolutely the BEST book for phoneme-grapheme mapping! 5 Star Review

Posted by on 18th May 2020

Our state is changing over to the "Science of Reading" and this book has been inspirational in helping me to tread the unknown floodwaters of Phonemic Awareness. I cannot wait to use the kinesthetic approach lessons with my struggling students. I also love that it has the 6 syllable types broken down with word lists for each of them. It's going to be a wonderful year!
