Kathryn Grace, M.Ed.

Kathryn received her BS in Elementary Education & Med in Reading and Language Arts from the University of Vermont and later obtained her Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Language and Learning Disabilities from St. Michaels College in Colchester, VT. It was there that she studied under Dr. Louisa Moats and Dr. Reid Lyon who profoundly affected her professional growth. During her 27+-year career, Kathryn has been a classroom teacher, reading specialist, assessment specialist and language arts coordinator and most recently a literacy/learning specialist. Additionally, she is an instructor for the TIME for Teachers where she offers professional development for practicing teachers in the areas of reading and written expression. She previously served as a mentor, mentor coordinator and contributing author for this nationally recognized literacy project. She continues to serve on the Vermont Peer Review Licensing Board for Professional Educators.

Ms. Grace has been recognized extensively by her peers. She was the recipient of the Vt. American Legion Auxiliary Educator of the Year Award in 1995, the Robert Stafford Award for Distinguished Service to Special Education in 1996 and in 2002received the Vt/NEA Award for Teaching Excellence.

Kathi resides in Waterbury, Vermont with her husband, Robert, and their three sons. She enjoys attending her children's music and sports events as well as reading, refinishing furniture, gardening and snowshoeing.
