DIBELS Next
DIBELS Next measures are quick and efficient measures that indicate if a student is on track for reading success. With both universal screening and progress monitoring components, these measures are critical tools for educators as they:
  • Identify students who need intervention support
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions by monitoring student growth
  • Support the RtI/multitiered model
Training Options
The following training options are available to support your implementation. These are highly recommended to ensure fidelity of implementation.

Face-to-Face Training:
The initial face-to-face training session provides in-depth program training—including program research, materials, methods, and implementation. Using an interactive, practice-driven training process, the training session prepares participants to immediately begin implementing the program. Face-to Face trainings are a great opportunity to receive training district/school-wide.

DIBELS Next Online Training:
This easy-to-navigate online course provides in-depth training on all six DIBELS Next measures—from implementation to administration, scoring, and interpretation, as well as embedded video segments to practice each measure multiple times.  Estimated to take 9–12 hours, the DIBELS Next online option allows 24/7 access to all course material. Teachers have access to the course for one year from the date of purchase. A certificate is available upon course completion and can be applied toward continuing education credit.

Advanced Training:
Designed for teachers who have implemented the program for a year or more, this training session is focused on developing a greater depth of knowledge about the program, as well as to refine instructional delivery. The content of this session can be customized to meet the specifics of a district’s instructional focus, and/or include model lessons, and information on how to respond to implementation challenges.

Ongoing Support and Coaching:
Research clearly shows the value on ongoing professional development. The transference of learning from an initial training session is increased by up to 90% when ongoing support and coaching are built in to the implementation model. Support days are built around the specific needs of the district, and can include working with individuals at the district, school, and teacher level. Support days may include refresher training, teacher observations and feedback, modeling lessons, and data analysis.

Private TOT:
Training of Trainers (TOT) provides a challenging, intensive training experience that prepares participants to train other educators in their district. Building local training capacity has been shown to increase fidelity, sustainability, and quality of instruction—resulting in greater student achievement. TOTs are a great opportunity to receive training district/school-wide.

Open (Public) TOT:
Training of Trainers (TOT) provides a challenging, intensive training experience that prepares participants to train other educators in their district. Building local training capacity has been shown to increase fidelity, sustainability, and quality of instruction—resulting in greater student  achievement. Open TOT trainings are offered on a per-person tuition bases and are a great opportunity for smaller groups and individuals to receive training.
